“We found Specimen No. 33 at the site of what we assume was an impromptu autopsy table, which was also a cheap particleboard bookshelf with a Brazilian Cherry laminate.

This specimen was quite unceremoniously nailed down by three of its tentacles, and appeared to have been readied for a lobotomy. We’re not certain, as the autopsy is incomplete.

We removed a chunk of the bookshelf together with the specimen, because it was an unattractive bookshelf and we didn’t want to pull the nails out.”

These are some props that I constructed for a production of Love/Water, a play staged by Ensemble Studio Theatre and Open Fist Theatre in LA. I worked with the scenic and costume designers to create large scale props that integrated into the show’s style.

“We found a collection of these creepy dolls in a room that looked like a nursery. Mrs. Edna Lee Ellis and her husband Charles were childless, and we have no reason to believe that she was ever pregnant. However, Mrs. Ellis appears to have made a plethora of very odd toys and stuffed animals.”

made from recycled wool felted sweaters and polymer clay faces.

malaysia2

I went back to Malaysia in June(I was born there) taking my boyfriend Jason and my friend Jesse with me. We did touristy things, but we also walked around a lot on the wonderful developing country streets(I’m not sure if it actually is a developing country. Some of it is beautiful and looks like any metropolis…some of it is still antiquated).
