dead reef larms

November 18th, 2012 § 2 comments

I’m painting up my next series of larms, which is a pretty depressing story.

These larms, who were driven away from their original homes due to problematic fishing methods, have failed to transport their tiny reef ecosystems to a suitable habitat, leading to their untimely deaths. The coral on their backs have been unable to sustain the zooxanthellae that give them their colour, and have been “bleached” white.
