Drug Uses
Furosemide is used for treatment of fluid build-up and swelling caused by congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or kidney sickness. It is also used in combination with other medicines to treat fluid build-up in the lungs. Itcan also be used for other conditions as determined by your physician.
How Taken
Take Furosemide as recommended by your doctor. To avoid stomach upset take Furosemide with a meal. Furosemide can increase the amount of urine or cause you to urinate more often when you first start taking it. To keep this from disturbing your sleep, try to take your dosage before 6 pm (18:00).
Additional Information
Furosemide may cause dizziness. These effects can worsen if Furosemide is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Furosemide with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this pill. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, call your physician. Furosemide should be used only by the patient for whom it has been determined. Don't take less or more or take it more often than directed by your physician.
