Drug Uses
Crestor is used to control the level of cholesterol and blood pressure in patients with primary hyperlipidemia or mixed dyslipidemia. Crestor is only effective when used along with certain diet.
How Taken
Crestor comes in pills to be taken orally with or without food. Usual dosage is 10mg - 40mg once a day.
Additional Information
You may need a dose adjustment or special monitoring during healing or you may not be able to take this product at all if you have kidney or liver infection or if you have gastrointestinal problems. Crestor interact with the following products- phenytoin (Dilantin); tamoxifen (Nolvadex); tolbutamide (Orinase); torsemide (Demadex); fluvastatin (Lescol); a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin), heparin, ardeparin (Normiflo), dalteparin (Fragmin), danaparoid (Orgaran), enoxaparin (Lovenox), or tinzaparin (Innohep); (Activase), anistreplase (Eminase), dipyridamole (Persantine), streptokinase (Kabikinase, Streptase), ticlopidine (Ticlid), and urokinase (Abbokinase). People taking the above mentioned drugs should call a physician concerning the dose and possibility of Crestor usage.
