Drug Uses
Imodium is used for treating and controlling diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea, and reducing the volume of discharge from an ileostomy (a surgical opening in the wall of the intestines). It may also be used for other conditions as advised by your doctor.
How Taken
Take Imodium as prescribed by your doctor. To avoid stomach upset take Imodium with a food intake. It is recommended to drink extra fluids while you are taking Imodium and while you have diarrhea. Do not use for more than [[two|2] days unless advised by a physician.
Additional Information
Imodium may cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects may worsen if Imodium is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Use Imodium with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this product. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, contact your physician. This pill should be used only by the patient for whom it has been directed. Don't take less or more or take it more often than advised by your doctor.
