Drug Uses
Neurontin is used for curing of seizures associated with epilepsy. It may also be used for curing nerve pain associated with herpes zoster (shingles) infection (postherpetic neuralgia). Neurontin may also be used for other condition as prescribed by your physician.
How Taken
Use Neurontin as advised by your doctor. Take Neurontin with or without a meal. Do not take an antacid containing aluminum or magnesium within 2 hours before you take Neurontin. Don't suddenly stop taking Neurontin. You can have an increased risk of side effects (eg, seizures). If you need to stop taking Neurontin or add a new medicine, your physician will gradually lower your dosage.
Additional Information
Neurontin can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects may worsen if Neurontin is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Neurontin with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly negative tasks until you know how you react to this product. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, notify your physician. This product should be used only by the patient for whom it has been advised. Do not take less or more or take it more often than prescribed by your physician.
