Drug Uses
Neurontin is used for curing of seizures associated with epilepsy. It may also be used for treating nerve pain associated with herpes zoster (shingles) infection (postherpetic neuralgia). Neurontin can also be used for other situation as recommended by your physician.
How Taken
Use Neurontin as suggested by your doctor. Take Neurontin with or without a meal. Do not take an antacid containing aluminum or magnesium within two hours before you take Neurontin. Don't suddenly stop taking Neurontin. You may have an increased risk of side effects (eg, seizures). If you need to stop taking Neurontin or add a new medicine, your doctor will gradually lower your dosage.
More Information
Neurontin may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects may worsen if Neurontin is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Neurontin with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you respond to this pill. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor. This medicine should be used only by the patient for whom it has been advised. Do not take less or more or take it more often than directed by your doctor.
