Originally designed for Burning Man(the predecessor to the Last Apothecary), Salvage Station No. 8 was eventually realized as an immersive and interactive installation for Beam Camp, a summer camp in New Hampshire that teaches kids how to build and fabricate things. Over the course of three weeks, kids between the ages of 9-16 learned carpentry, propmaking, moldmaking, scenic painting, sign painting and basic electrical skills(many already had them) and built this installation, mostly in the last week.

Beam Camp is such a magical, earnest, safe and encouraging space and I am so grateful to have been part of it.
